Abstract

Alteration of land use occurringat left Tapung watershed (DAS TapungKiri) effectingto fluctuation of Siak river flow rate. A significant decreasing in forest areas from 15.624ha(in 2002) to 12.186 ha (in 2012) was suspected to reduce watershed healthy condition. The objective of this paper was to evaluatethe existing watershedhealth performancesby assessing of; 1) Percentage of critical land (PLK),2) Percentage of vegetation cover (PPV),3) Coefficient regim of flow(KRA),and 4) Coannual of flow (KAT) efficient criteria. This study identified that the existing watershed conditions (forest areas = 12.186 ha) were; PLK = 9,82%, PPV= 71,6%, KRA= 14,28 and KAT= 0,45. After conducting forest conservation program (forest areas become 15.624 Ha) by planting a part of open land area and shrub areas, and run the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) simulation, the results were presented as follow; PLK= 6,52 % PPV=73,08 % KRA= 5,78, and KAT= 0,44. The final results after conducting the conservation programs have yield better results compared to the existing condition before conducting the forest conservation.
