The Giam Siak Kecil - Bukit Batu (GSK-BB) Biosphere Reserves is an area that has characteristic of peat swamp forest. Ecosystem management is not done wisely it will cause damage to the ecosystem and the resources contained therein will also decrease the welfare of the people who depend on the ecosystem. Communities around the ecosystem of biosphere reserves GSK-BB have a very large dependence on these ecosystems, they can act as a destroyer or guard ecosystem, for it needs to be built a pattern of ecosystem management of biosphere reserves GSK-BB involving communities around the ecosystem. The results of the review of the results of show that the model of community empowerment management in the biosphere reserve area of GSK-BB is an innovative collaborative model, because this model can provide solutions in facing the problems of role and institutional function in the village so that it can develop the potential of GSK-BB biosphere reserve area economic, social and cultural value.
